Film Fest 201X...Or a better name when we come up with one
[UPDATE] postponed until some future date We've been doing research on getting the company a 503c tax exemption and, apparently, it is costly; which is bad news. Some good news; though, we've come up with a way to raise some money in order to pay Uncle Sam his surprisingly large fee to be tax exempt whilst giving artists an awesome platform to showcase their work—Film Fest 2010 (temporary title only), to be held at the Plano Angelika Film Center at a currently undetermined time. We're still in preliminary stages right now, but this will most likely be a multi-night event. More or less nights as dictated by the quality and quantity of films we are able to present. What we need are some Up-and-Coming film makers who want to submit their work to the festival. Ideally, these would be short films, but we're open to anything that our schedule can support. Full disclosure: there will be a small entry fee for the films. Again, this will be dictated by the number of submissions we get, etc, etc, but the idea is to only charge the entrants enough to cover our costs for the location; which isn't a terrible amount, especially considering how great Angelika's theatres are. So, we're putting a call out to all those genius independent film makers out there; if you have a short (or long) film that you'd like to see on the big screen in a really nice venue, let's get in touch.
